I'm the founder of LexiPress, and I learned Chinese as a second language myself. I did my bachelor's degree in Chinese language and literature in northeast China, earned an International Chinese Language Teacher Certificate, and went on to a master's degree in lexicography, focused on learner's dictionaries and teaching materials.
I've taught Chinese to adult learners in China, Germany, and Mexico, and today I design language courses, learning materials, and e-learning.
When I was studying Chinese in northeast China, I kept running into the same problem. Outside our course books, good materials were hard to find. Even the dictionaries were written for Chinese speakers learning English, not for people like me learning Chinese. I've seen how much the quality of your materials shapes your progress and your motivation. So LexiPress makes the materials I wish I'd had: clear, careful, and built to help you really learn.
Lexi is the pen name of the founder of LexiPress LLC.LexiPress is a small digital publisher of Chinese-as-a-second-language materials for two groups of learners we care about equally:
AP® Chinese students, who need solid pinyin, tones, and characters to build on as their course and exam prep get harder.
HSK® learners, who want a clear path through HSK 3.0, the newer nine-level Chinese proficiency standard, starting from the very beginning.
College and university students, and anyone studying on their own, fit right in too. Our HSK books are written around the official HSK 3.0 word and character lists, and everything starts with the foundations: pinyin and Chinese characters for beginners.
Small steps: short, focused sections that fit around class, college, work, or self-study.
Careful review: materials are reviewed by teachers and native-speaker reviewers before release.
Honest expectations: learning a language takes time. We aim to make that time clearer and more enjoyable, not to promise shortcuts.
Useful first: every page earns its place. We cut filler and keep what a learner can actually apply.
We're starting with Book 0, Write Your First 25 Chinese Characters: Pinyin and Writing Starter (launching Friday, December 11, 2026), a first step for beginners, whether they're heading toward HSK 1 or later AP Chinese. Next up: workbooks for HSK 3.0 Levels 1–3, plus practice materials for students taking the AP Chinese Language and Culture Exam. Want to hear about new books? Join our update list. Further out, we will add other learning materials for upper intermediate and advanced Chinese.
